More than half of Kansas University’s student-athletes posted a grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the spring semesters, lifting the cumulative GPA to a record 3.04, according to numbers released Wednesday.
A total of 243 student-athletes — 55 percent of students on active rosters — had a 3.0 or above, and 39 had a perfect 4.0.
The previous department-high was 3.0 in spring of 2015.
For the second spring semester in a row, KU soccer led all sports with a team GPA of 3.53, a team record.
