KU’s Sakdee leads Big 12 golf

? Kansas University sophomore Pornvipa Sakdee took the first-round lead on Friday at the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship at the Dominion Country Club.

Sakdee shot a conference-record 4-under 68 for a one-stroke lead in the 45-golfer field.

As a team, KU is tied with Kansas State for eighth in the nine-team field with 301. Baylor lead at 282.

Other KU scores: Yupaporn Kawinpakorn, tied for 11th, 73; Gabriella DiMarco, tied for 40th, 79; Minami Levonowich, 44th, 81; and Pitsinee Winyarat, 45th, 83.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes today and a final round on Sunday.
