Logan Philley paces KU men’s golf

? Kansas University’s Logan Philley shot 2-under par in the morning and 4-under in the afternoon for a two-round score of 138 to put himself in a tie for seventh place Friday at the UTEP Price’s Give ‘Em Five Golf Invitational on Friday at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club.

Philley’s 70-68-138 put him two strokes behind four co-leaders at 136.

Kansas teammate Ben Welle shot 69-70-139 and was in a six-way tie for 10th.

Other KU scores: Chase Hanna, tied for 24th, 143; Connor Peck, tied for 32nd, 145; and Jackson Foth, tied for 40th, 152.

As a team, Kansas is tied for fourth at 565. New Mexico State leads the team race with 551.

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes today.
