By Staff And Wire Reports     May 23, 2013

? An arrest has been made in the death of former Kansas University football and NFL player David McMillan III, police in suburban Atlanta say.

DeKalb County police Sgt. W.L. Wallace said the 31-year-old McMillan was shot outside his car early Saturday morning. Wallace said McMillan and a man identified as 19-year-old Antonio Faust got out of McMillan’s car and fought briefly before the shooting.

Wallace said Faust surrendered to authorities Tuesday and told investigators he had received a ride from McMillan and tried to rob him at gunpoint.

McMillan, a defensive end, played at Kansas from 2001-04 and for the Cleveland Browns from 2005-07. He started 37 games for KU.

Faust is being held on a murder charge in the DeKalb County jail.
