Kansas University senior jumper Andrea Geubelle, KU head coach Stanley Redwine and assistant coach Wayne Pate claimed Midwest Regional Awards, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Monday.

Geubelle was named the region’s female field athlete of the year for the first time in her career. Redwine (women’s head coach of the year) and Pate (women’s assistant of the year) each earned his respective award for the second consecutive season.

Geubelle, a senior from University Place, Wash., won all three of the triple-jump events she competed in this outdoor season. She set the KU school record with her mark of 13.85 meters (45 feet, 13/4 inches) at the Georgia Tech Invite, a leap that is No. 2 in the NCAA. Her top long-jump mark of the year of 6.53 meters (21-51/4) ranks No. 5 in the nation. She won her second-straight Big 12 triple-jump title and finished runner-up in the long jump.

Redwine, in his 13th season as head coach, oversaw the KU women’s team that was ranked No. 1 in the national rankings for eight of the 10 weeks this season. KU has 13 athletes who rank in the top 10 in their events. The KU women claimed the program’s first Big 12 title after having eight Jayhawks win individual league crowns.

Redwine coached Diamond Dixon to her third-straight Big 12 400-meter title, as well as KU’s 4×400-meter relay. Kansas also successfully advanced 13 entries to the upcoming NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Redwine was named the Big 12 Women’s Coach of the Year in May.

Pate, who is in his sixth-year as the horizontal jumps and combined events coach for KU, mentored three of his athletes to Big 12 titles in 2013. His athletes combined for 52 of the team’s 158 points as KU claimed its first Big 12 team title. Pate coached Geubelle, as well as Big 12 champions Francine Simpson (lone jump) and Lindsay Vollmer (heptahlon).
