Week 14 games

Kansas at West Virginia

Texas at Kansas State

Oklahoma State at Baylor

Alabama at Georgia

Nebraska at Wisconsin

Central Florida at Tulsa

Off-the-wall question: Who do you think the BCS national champion will be this year, and why?

Sports copy editor Chris Cottrell (45-21 overall, 2-4 in Week 12)

West Virginia 42, Kansas 14

Kansas State 45, Texas 35

Oklahoma State 49 Baylor 42

Alabama 17, Georgia 13

Nebraska 28, Wisconsin 21

Tulsa 28, Central Florida 24

Question: Notre Dame, because the Irish are the only team that needs just one victory.

Associate sports editor Drew Hartsock (45-21 overall, 2-4 in Week 12)

West Virginia 42, Kansas 6

Kansas State 56, Texas 55, OT

Baylor 77, Oklahoma State 70

Alabama 14, Georgia 13

Nebraska 28, Wisconsin 21

Tulsa 45, Central Florida 42

Question: Sorry. I don't do football predictions.

KU men's basketball beat writer Gary Bedore (43-23 overall, 2-4 in Week 12)

West Virginia 49, Kansas 10

Texas 28, Kansas State 14

Oklahoma State 39, Baylor 35

Alabama 24, Georgia 17

Nebraska 30, Wisconsin 20

Tulsa 21, Central Florida 20

Question: Alabama. Seems like Alabama is primed for one more title for the SEC.

KU football beat writer Matt Tait (43-23 overall, 2-4 in Week 12)

West Virginia 45, Kansas 17

Kansas State 38, Texas 21

Baylor 42, Oklahoma State 38

Alabama 24, Georgia 14

Wisconsin 27, Nebraska 24

Central Florida 28, Tulsa 24

Question: Notre Dame - It just seems like the Irish are in the middle of one of those amazing rides of destiny and their defense is as good as any defense out there. Manti Te'o for Heisman!!!

High school beat reporter Benton Smith (43-23 overall, 4-2 in Week 12)

West Virginia 41, Kansas 27

Kansas State 38, Texas 24

Oklahoma State 58, Baylor 50

Alabama 24, Georgia 19

Nebraska 30, Wisconsin 23

Tulsa 31, Central Florida 30

Question: Whichever team wins the national semifinal that is the SEC title game will beat Notre Dame by at least two touchdowns. The Irish have some impressive victories this year — and an awesome defense — but haven't seen the overall speed of an Alabama or Georgia. I hate drinking the SEC Kool-Aid, but pour me another one, I guess. online editor Jesse Newell (41-25 overall, 2-4 in Week 12)

West Virginia 51, Kansas 17

Kansas State 49, Texas 28

Oklahoma State 45, Baylor 31

Alabama 31, Georgia 14

Nebraska 24, Wisconsin 21

Central Florida 42, Tulsa 31

Question: Alabama. I'd be surprised if either of the Crimson Tide's final two opponents keep it within a TD. 'Bama is that good.

Sports copy editor Nick Gerik (40-26 overall, 3-3 in Week 12)

West Virginia 42, Kansas 21

Kansas State 35, Texas 18

Oklahoma State 50, Baylor 49

Alabama 6, Georgia 3

Nebraska 23, Wisconsin 21

Central Florida 33, Tulsa 30

Question: Notre Dame, if they really do play like champions that day. Otherwise, Alabama.

Sports editor Tom Keegan (38-28 overall, 2-4 in Week 12)

West Virginia 52, Kansas 21

Kansas State 35, Texas 31

Oklahoma State 49, Baylor 45

Alabama 28, Georgia 13

Wisconsin 28, Nebraska 21

Tulsa 35, Central Florida 31

Question: Notre Dame because my father (Class of '41) and my brother John (Class of '71) will will them to victory from heaven.

I'm not sure why everyone is predicting a narrow victory for K-State. Regardless of year, coach, or sport, they OWN Texas.

I despise K-State, but they will rebound and beat the crap out of Mack Brown.

Congratulations, Gary Bedore, you picked the largest margin of defeat for us once again among all the writers. You are very consistent! Hopefully, we make it a little closer than your pick.

Hartsock sez 'Sorry. I don't do football predictions' after predicting 6 games a week all season long. Uh...what?

I once stayed in the same vacation beach house that Georgia coach Mark Richt had previously vaycayed in. I've reviewed my history and, sadly, that is my best claim to fame...unless you count the fact that my grampa regularly sharpened all of the tools that James Naismith used for his woodworking hobby.

My niece graduated from Alabama, so... Roll Tide! Bama wins 31-17

KU could actually win this one. The team will be focused and WVU is bound to underestimate the Jayhawks.

Yeah, it's a road game and a conference game and all that... streak has to end sometime, this could be it.

Reuben_J_Cogburn 9 years, 5 months ago

Haha. Yeah, right? were serious. My apologies.

VaJay 9 years, 5 months ago

I hope you're right. You never know...

Boouk 9 years, 5 months ago

I'll go out on a limb and say KU will score more than 6 points against WVU's defense. 56-21 WVU.

Prediction: KU will win before the Chiefs win another game.
