KU golf pioneer Toalson elected to Hall of Fame

Bill Toalson, the first golfer to earn a scholarship at Kansas University, was elected to the Kansas Golf Hall of Fame on Thursday.

Toalson, a Dodge City native, enters the Hall of Fame as an amateur player. He won the two-man high school state championship in 1953 and played three seasons with KU, serving as the team captain in 1959.
