Kansas University’s baseball team pulled in the 40th-ranked recruiting class in the country, according to College Baseball Newspaper’s annual rankings released on Tuesday.

KU added 13 freshmen and one transfer (left-handed pitcher Jordan Luvisi from Pepperdine) to their roster for their 2012 signing class.

KU’s recruiting class includes four freshmen who were drafted by Major League organizations in June, but opted to come to Kansas. The list of current Jayhawk freshmen selected in this year’s draft include outfielder Connor McKay (Colorado, 24th round), outfielder Michael Suiter (37th round, Cincinnati), right-handed pitcher Robert Kahana (Colorado, 44th round) and left-handed pitcher Wes Benjamin (New York Yankees, 48th round).
