? Kansas University golfer Chris Gilbert tied for 55th place at the NCAA Regional on Saturday.

Gilbert, who qualified for the regional as an individual, shot a final-day 73.

Gilbert sandwiched a round of 75 in between a pair of 73s in the 54-hole tournament held at the par-71 Omni Tucson National Resort.

His three-round total was 221.

Gilbert started the final day on the par-five 10th hole and carded a birdie on that hole for the third straight day. He bogeyed 12 and 13 before getting back to even par with a birdie on 15.

However, Gilbert made two more bogeys the rest of the day to finish at 73.

The top five teams advanced to the NCAA Championship: San Diego State, Texas A&M, California, Pepperdine and Arizona.

The top individual not on one of those teams (Matt Hansen, UC Davis, nine-under par 204) also advanced.
