KU volleyball team swept by Texas

? Despite 11 kills from senior Brittany Williams, the No. 2 Texas Longhorns defeated the Kansas University volleyball team, 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-19), in KU’s final regular-season contest.

With the loss, Kansas dropped to 16-14 overall and 8-12 in Big 12 play. It is KU’s first winning season since 2004. UT, the Big 12 regular-season champion, improved to 24-1 overall and 19-1 in the Big 12.

Kansas will find out its postseason fate today during the NCAA Tournament selection process, which begins at 2 p.m. KU is eligible for an at-large bid since it finished with at least a .500 winning percentage.

Karina Garlington and Allison Mayfield added eight kills apiece for the Jayhawks.
