Texas, Kansas State football games sold out

Kansas Athletics, Inc. on Thursday announced KU home football games against Texas and Kansas State are sold out, while only a limited number of tickets remained for games against Colorado and Texas Tech.

The Kansas State game is scheduled for Nov. 1, while the Texas game is scheduled for Nov. 15.

Fewer than 500 tickets remain for the home game against Colorado on Oct. 11. Fewer than 1,000 tickets remain for the Jayhawks’ Homecoming game against Texas Tech on Oct. 25.

KU’s first three home games this season featured crowds of 52,112 vs. Florida International, 48,621 vs. Louisiana Tech and 51,767 vs. Sam Houston State. The Florida International game attendance was a single-game school record.

The previous single-game attendance school records were: 51,910 vs. Nebraska in 2007; 51,821 vs. Kansas State in 2006; 51,750 vs. Nebraska in 2005; 51,574 vs. Kansas State in 1973; and 51,172 vs. Nebraska in 1982.

The Jayhawks’ highest home attendance average ever was 46,784, set during last year’s Orange Bowl season.
