By J-W Staff Reports     May 25, 2007

? Former Kansas University shooting guard Billy Thomas has left the Kansas Cagerz basketball team for a shot at the NBA.

Thomas, who averaged 14.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 11 games for the USBL team, has been invited to play for the Milwaukee Bucks summer league team.

“We’re extremely happy for Billy. That’s why he came here, and that’s what he wanted to accomplish,” Cagerz coach Francis Flax said. “We’re excited that he’s getting another chance to play in the NBA.”

Former KU guard Michael Lee has been placed on the team’s injured reserve list. Lee, who averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 assists, suffered a shoulder injury against Oklahoma on May 13 and has not played since. He’s out indefinitely.
