Kansas University’s virtual men’s basketball team didn’t let its first trip into Paige Sports Arena – the video game won’t let Missouri forget Ms. Laurie’s indiscretions – be intimidating, easily handling the Tigers in an 85-72 victory.

The Jayhawks took an early lead and didn’t look back, never leading by fewer than 10 points after midway through the first half. Kansas led by 13 points at halftime and won by the same margin after both teams scored 36 points after intermission.

Kansas was a perfect 11-of-11 shooting from the foul line and hit 4 of 9 three-point attempts. Missouri was 8 of 11 from behind the arc, and hit 10 of 12 free throws.

The virutal J.R. Giddens had broke out of real-life slump with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-4 shooting from behind the three-point arc. He also had seven blocks in the win.

Jeff Hawkins came off the bench and scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting in just 12 minutes. Michael Lee added 12 points and Aaron Miles has 10 points, five assists and two steals.

Keith Langford and Wayne Simien each scored six points, Sasha Kaun had five points and five rebounds, and C.J. Giles added four points and six boards. Darnell Jackson scored four points and Christian Moody had two points.

Jimmy McKinney had 26 points for Missouri, and Jason Conley added 16 points. Thomas Gardner had 10 points and five assists, and Spencer Lauire added eight points.

Linas Kleiza, Kevin Young and Jason Horton combined for seven points and nine rebounds in 59 minutes.
