Oklahoma prep waiting to sign basketball letter

By J-W Staff Reports     Apr 13, 2005

Putnam City (Okla.) standout basketball guard C.J. Henry will not sign a letter of intent during the late signing period which starts today.

The 6-foot-3 Henry, the son of former Kansas University player Carl Henry, averaged more than 22 points a game the past two seasons for Putnam City.

His future may hinge on the results of the June baseball draft. Henry is standout pitcher/shortstop.

He told the Daily Oklahoman he was down to four schools for basketball: KU, Texas, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

“I haven’t made up my mind, and I won’t be signing on Wednesday,” said Henry, who has made an official visit to KU.

The Jayhawks have no scholarships available in recruiting.
