Kansas signs two players

Kansas University softball coach Tracy Bunge has signed two players to national letters of intent.

Bunge on Thursday announced the signings of Kassie Humphreys, a 5-foot-11, right-handed pitcher from Glendale (Ariz.) Cactus High, and Nicole Washburn, a 5-7 first baseman/outfielder from St. Peter. (Mo.) Fort Zumwalt West High.

Humphreys has a career earned run average of 0.76 to go with 15 shutouts at Cactus High. Humphreys was also a standout in the classroom with a 3.8 grade point average.

Washburn is an all-state, all-metro and all-conference selection. She batted .456 as a senior, going 9-5 on the mound with a 0.48 ERA.
