Kansas University catcher-outfielder Leah Tabb and third baseman Megan Urquhart have earned berths on the All-Big 12 Conference softball team.
Also, KU pitcher Kara Pierce has been named freshman of the year in balloting by league coaches.
Pierce was a second-team all-conference selection as were second baseman Amy Hulse, shortstop Courtney Wright and outfielder Shelly Musser.
Tabb, Urquhart, Hulse, Wright and Musser are all juniors. Only Musser had earned all-league honors before.
Urquhart, Wright, Hulse and Shelley Musser were also named to the league’s all-academic team along with twin sisters Kelly and Katie Campbell. Shelly Musser’s twin sister Christi made the second team.
