It took one minute and 47 seconds for Kansas to score the game’s first points. It didn’t take them much longer to put in a lot more on their way to a 92-66 victory over Middle Tennessee State.
The Jayhawks enjoyed their usual dominance under the boards, outrebounding MTSU 49-27. KU’s accuracy was a little off at 51%, which is still not bad.
Seven Jayhawks scored in double-digits, led by Jeff Boschee with 19 points. Kirk Hinrich and Eric Chenowith each notched double-doubles — Hinrich with 10 points and 10 assists, and Chenowith with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Nick Collison followed with 14 points and three blocks, while Drew Gooden added 10 points. Kenny Gregory and Luke Axtell each chipped in 11.
