Six nights from tonight, Allen Fieldhouse will be rocking and another Kansas basketball season officially will be under way, when the Jayhawks play host to Pitt State at 7 p.m. in their home exhibition opener of the 2017-18 season.

To celebrate the arrival of the 120th season of Kansas basketball, the team at KUsports.com has put together a fun evening that promises to appeal to Kansas basketball fans of all ages.

Join us, from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at Abe & Jake’s Landing in Downtown Lawrence for our first ever KUsports.com season tip-off party. Grab your friends and family members and come hang out with the KUsports.com staff and dozens of other KU basketball fans, who, like you, are dying for the start of the season to arrive.

We’ll have games and prizes, free food and drinks, fun for the whole family and excellent giveaways, prizes and interviews from the KUsports.com crew.

A few members of the KU cheerleading squad, along with Big Jay, will join us to usher in the 2017-18 season. And we’ll have pop-a-shot games and bags so you can scratch that competitive itch if all of the preseason hoops hype gets you a little fired up.

Tom Keegan and I will be hosting the event and we’ll have time to take a few questions about this year’s team and the upcoming season from the audience and we’ll also welcome a few specials guests to the stage who know a thing or two about what it felt like to bring home the 2008 national title 10 seasons ago.

So clear your schedule, grab a friend or four and come celebrate the start of the 2017-18 KU basketball season with KUsports.com and Abe & Jake’s.
