**4:30 p.m. Update:**

FINAL: Blue tops Red for the second straight week, 64-57.

Langford finished with 24 to lead all scorers and McLemore finished with 16 points.

**4:29 p.m. Update:**

Withey bucket and Wesley dunk push the lead back to six — 60-54 — and McLemore’s soaring layup with a minute to play puts it out of reach. Blue up 62-54 with less than a minute to play.

**4:27 p.m. Update:**

Two quick buckets by Blue — McLemore layup and Tharpe three-pointer — put Blue back up 56-52. But Langford’s bucket cuts it back to two… 56-54. 3:00 to play.

Things have gotten very competitive at both ends and a lot of the clowning around has given way to all-out effort. These guys all want to win.

**4:26 p.m. Update:**

Red now back in front thanks to two more from Langford (22 points).

52-51, 4:00 to play.

**4:24 p.m. Update:**

Langford three and steal followed by a deep jumper cuts Blue lead to 49-48. Langford now with 20.

Traylor answers with a layup and Peters follows with one of his own.

51-50 – Blue. 5:00 to play.

**4:22 p.m. Update:**

Blue now with its largest lead, 47-38, with 8:15 to play.

Doyle with a steal and a dunk — 8 points — puts the lead to 49-40, Blue, with 7:06 left.

Langford answers with a three-point play to cut it to 49-43. Langford has 15 points to lead all scorers.

**4:19 p.m. Update:**

Once again, Tharpe looks really comfortable running the show and has done a nice job while being hounded by Russ-Rob, Langford and Miles.

Last possession he dished a sweet assist to McLemore, who buried another three-pointer. He now has 12 points and Blue leads 43-35. 10:30 to play.

**4:15 p.m. Update:**

McLemore with back-to-back buckets to open the second half and the Blue squad now leads 38-30.

McLemore has 9 and Releford has 8.

**4:12 p.m. Update:**

Tharpe answers a deep three-pointer from Langford with a deep one of his own and the Blue squad leads the Red alums 31-30 at halftime.

Langford has 7 points for the Red squad and Releford has 6 for the Blue.

Hawkins has 7, Doyle has 6 and Doyle has 6 as well. Withey has 4. Second half about to go.

**4:08 p.m. Update:**

3:00 to play in the first half, Red leads Blue 27-26. Collins and Releford have had a couple of good battles and are having a lot of fun going at each other. So far, Releford has had the upper hand.

Zach Peters also picked up a bucket on a soft jumper.

**4:05 p.m. Update:**

Sweet backdoor pass from Miles to Morningstar puts Red up 21-17, but the Blue squad cuts it to two on the next trip when the Chicago Connection – Doyle to Traylor – hooked up for an easy bucket inside.

Doyle also drained his second three-pointer to put the Blue up by a point, 24-23. Doyle appears to be playing mostly point guard but has picked up a couple of rebounds on the defensive end with his length.

Landen Lucas also has four points for the Red team – two from the FT line and a mid-range jumper.

**4:02 p.m. Update:**

Perry Ellis in and immediately scores in the post with a sweet move.

Milton Doyle also checked in and hit his first shot, a three-pointer from the wing, to give the blue squad a 15-13 lead.

**4:00 p.m. Update:**

Langford guarding his brother, Justin Wesley, and also hitting shots over him on the other end. Red leads Blue 9-8 early on.

Withey with four, Hawkins with 5.

**3:56 p.m. Update:**

**Original Post:**

Last week, newcomers Perry Ellis and Andrew White teamed with veterans Jeff Withey and Justin Wesley to steal the spotlight at the first edition of Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self’s summer camp scrimmage between the current players and whatever alums happen to be in town.

That game, which featured former KU standouts Aaron Miles, Julian Wright, Jeff Hawkins and Brady Morningstar came down to the final few minutes, with the blue squad picking up a come-from-behind victory against the red team.

We’re not sure yet what the rosters for today’s scrimmage will look like but it’s believed that Keith Langford (who scored 47 last week in the Rock Chalk Roundball Classic) will be playing and current Jayhawk Kevin Young also should be on the floor. Young just returned from Puerto Rico, where he tried out for the Puerto Rican Olympic team.

Here’s the blurb from Gary Bedore about Young’s travels:

*KU senior forward Kevin Young said he enjoyed competing with the likes of J.J. Barea (Minnesota, NBA), Shabazz Napier (UConn), Mike Rosario (Florida) and Renaldo Balkman (South Carolina) at the recent Puerto Rico national team tryouts.*

*”It was fun. I learned a lot. I think I grew a lot as a player, too,” said Young, who was one of 12 players asked to play in a tournament this week in Puerto Rico, but was told he would be bumped from the Olympic team once several Puerto Rican pro players reported to camp.*

*”I worked on my shot, my handles a bit. Hopefully I’ll show a little bit of improvement when I get back in the gym, today,” Young added.*

*Young said he will try to make the Olympic team in 2016. “I’ll go back next year for the world championships,” he said. “I really didn’t get an answer what I need to improve on, the reason I was cut, what I didn’t do right. Hopefully I can change it next time I go down there.”*

*KU coach Self said he heard Young played well at tryouts.*

*”The last game he plays five minutes, gets eight points, four rebounds, is 2-2 from three which I was kind of excited to hear about. Kevin will have a good year this year because he’s going to be a lot more comfortable,” Self said.*

Stay tuned throughout the afternoon for updates from the scrimmage. We’ll post the lineups for each side as soon as we get a look at the lineups for each side.

Stay tuned…
