Got an interesting thing in the mail the other day.It was an exquisite, lengthy DVD [ dedicated to Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan][1], apparently a Heisman Trophy candidate. The scribes get a lot of doohickeys like this. An e-mail dedicated to how great [ Darren McFadden is][2] shows up in my inbox every Saturday. I’m currently scribbling notes in a notebook dedicated to Illinois linebacker [J Lemen][3]. A Byron Leftwich bobblehead doll and a D’Angelo Williams model race car is floating around the office somewhere. Last season I got a postcard that had a huge Heisman Trophy in the middle, and a list of all of Ohio State’s winners. Troy Smith won the award a few weeks later, so it obviously worked.KU hasn’t done anything yet, presumably for cornerback [Aqib Talib][4]. In the past, the Jayhawks mailed out a postcard of Charles “Slash” Gordon listing all of his accomplishments in 2005.Oh yeah, one other thing: Don’t tell anyone, but I don’t have a Heisman vote. So sending things to me won’t get them too far.
