It isn’t over. Yet.But after Sunday’s 72-68 upset at Missouri, the state of the Jayhawk basketball season resembled Keith Langford leaving the arena.Limping, injured, and awfully close to an exit.If Langford is out for an extended period of time a possibility, according to Bill Self the KU season will end in the worst of ways, done in by the hated Missouri Tigers. Sunday’s loss doesn’t mean that much in the grand scheme of things, but the loss of Langford would be deadly. If he isn’t back to 100 percent in ten days, set your VCRs to record an upset special sometime during the weekend of March 19-20.That’s stating the obvious. Now, let’s move on to a few other items regarding the Border War.**1. Russell Robinson Needs to Play.**I’m not sure how Self comes up with his substitution patterns, but we really have no idea who will play in any given game. Down the stretch on Sunday, Self went with the freshman point guard. Robinson played 11 minutes against Missouri, the first time he’s reached double-figure minutes since January 15.Against Missouri, Robinson played tough defense, committed zero turnovers, and tallied a point for the first time in nearly two months.Somehow, I’m sure he’ll be buried again on the bench sometime soon.**2. Where’s Wayne?**Wayne Simien doesn’t touch the ball when Christian Moody is on the bench. I can’t explain it, but after Moody fouled out with 9:33 to play, Simien shot just three times, and scored just one bucket. Why can’t KU find another forward to give ‘Dub the ball?**3. Mizzou Arena Rocks**Mizzou Arena is the nicest college arena I’ve ever seen. From the marble floors to 15,000 theatre-style seats, the building is worth every penny that the rich Wal-Mart guy poured into it.If KU ever has to tear down Allen Fieldhouse which would be a cold day in hell I hope the university would build every bit the arena that our neighbors to the east now own.
