Back on the road, Jayhawks could have long Saturday afternoon

By Staff     Oct 23, 2015

There is no question that the Kansas football team showed some significant progress last week, in a home loss to Texas Tech that featured a three-point fourth-quarter deficit at one juncture.

But the improving Jayhawks (0-6 overall, 0-3 Big 12) haven’t done enough yet to sway our pickers from taking unbeaten No. 14 Oklahoma State (6-0, 3-0) this week.

At the very least, the future is looking more promising for the KU football program. Do you think the Jayhawks have a chance at ending their 35-game losing streak away from Lawrence on Saturday? Let us know in the comments section below.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK
——————–

**In 1989, “Back to the Future II” predicted a Cubs World Series title and flying cars in October of 2015. What historical moment or unrealized technology are you still waiting for?**

Last week: 5-1 | Season: 32-10

> Flying cars would be cool but Johnson
> County drivers would still probably
> drive like they owned the sky.

Last week: 5-1 | Season: 31-11

> A food reverser zapper. The food
> reverser zapper, which looks a little
> like a taser, turns every food that’s
> healthy unhealthy and makes every
> unhealthy food healthy with one pull
> of the trigger. This would lead to
> parents saying, “Come on, Junior,
> finish your french fries, but remember
> to leave room for your entire
> chocolate cake.”

Last week: 5-1 | Season: 31-11

> Another good, tough question. I’d say
> the flying car definitely should have
> been invented by now. One like they
> used in the Jetsons. I mean, have the
> automobile companies plotted against
> such technology? I wonder if there’s
> some sort of conspiracy to stop it. I
> also challenge doctors to find cures
> for some of these diseases that plague
> the world. I know it’s not easy to
> cure disease and genetic diseases, but
> I’ve been hoping with all the money
> raised to combat so many diseases like
> cancer that some cures would have been
> concocted by now. Get it done,
> doctors/technicians of the world!
> Thank you.

Last week: 5-1 | Season: 31-11

> A Royals World Series title.

Last week: 4-2 | Season: 30-12

> I’d love to be able to fly. And not
> like a pilot, but with a personal jet
> pack or something like that. It would
> be awesome to be able to cruise out to
> Colorado to watch a big game with my
> dad and still make it to work on time
> the next day. It’s coming. I just know
> it. And I feel like it would be safer
> than adding thousands of cars to the
> roads every year.

Last week: 4-2 | 30-12

> Still waiting for a wedge that beeps
> when I’ve gone far enough in my
> backswing to hit it exactly the right
> distance. Imagine that…

Last week: 4-2 | Season: 29-13

> A worldwide communications network
> connecting every individual’s
> electronic device (wired or wireless,
> even) to every other, essentially
> putting all the accumulated knowledge
> of all mankind, forever, at a person’s
> fingertips. Of course, it also could
> be used to distribute funny pictures
> of cats and inane videos of people
> tripping and falling into water
> fountains. That. Or transporters.

Last week: 5-1 | Season: 29-13

> The Chiefs winning a playoff game.

Last week: 4-2 | Season: 25-17

> Still waiting for an alarm clock that
> can avoid me hitting the snooze button
> 25 times in the morning.

Last week: 3-3 | Season: 23-19

> As long as we’re on the subject of Doc
> Brown and Marty McFly, I’ll go with
> time travel. Just so someone could go
> back in time and gather up some of the
> all-time great basketball players in
> history — Larry Bird, Wilt
> Chamberlain, Julius Erving, Magic
> Johnson, Michael Jordan, Oscar
> Robertson, Bill Russell, Jerry West —
> and bring them to 2015 to see how
> they’d match up with today’s NBA
> stars.
