Bill Self: KU won at Texas with defensive stops in crunch time

By Staff     Jan 18, 2020

After his Kansas basketball team won a game that was tied with 4:50 remaining in the second half at Texas, head coach Bill Self explained how the Jayhawks got out of Austin with a 66-57 victory.

“I think in our case it’s more getting stops than it is scoring,” Self said. “I don’t think we scored the ball great down the stretch. But you make free throws, you don’t turn it over and you get stops.”

Though Self said there was some luck involved, UT went 1-for-6 from the floor after tying the game at 54, only scoring three points.
