Following his Kansas football team’s 41-31 loss at Iowa State, head coach Les Miles explained why he wanted to go for it on 4th down in the fourth quarter, with his team down three.
“I thought the offense played spotty at times but really got in a groove late in the game,” Miles began.
KU trailed 34-31 with a little more than four minutes left when a Carter Stanley incompletion from the KU 37-yard line ended the drive.
“In the back half of the game I would have rather had the ball in our hands than their hands, and the opportunity to go for it on 4th down when your quarterback is hot,” Miles said. “It didn’t turn out.”
