Freshman Ochai Agbaji calls Texas Tech “a statement game” for KU

By Staff     Feb 1, 2019

Kansas freshman Ochai Agbaji spoke to reporters Friday afternoon at Allen Fieldhouse.

No. 11 Kansas (16-5, 5-3 Big 12) plays host to No. 16 Texas Tech (17-4, 5-3) at 3 p.m. Saturday for a crucial conference clash. The Jayhawks have lost two games in a row, including a road tilt at Texas on Tuesday.

“It’s obviously a statement game,” Agbaji said. “We’ve lost two in a row. We’re back at home where we haven’t lost this season. We’re trying to make a statement for the conference.”

The Red Raiders have won two games in a row, and is also vying to become the first Big 12 program to win back-to-back games in Allen Fieldhouse since Iowa State did it in 2000 and 2001.
