In seven games, Bender has completed 57.6 percent of his passes for 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns. Bender is averaging 164.4 passing yards per game for the Jayhawks. Last week, Bender went 19 of 29 for 249 yards and two scores through the air.
Entering Saturday, Iowa State has won three consecutive games over league foes. The Cyclones have won seven of the last eight meetings with the Jayhawks, including three straight. KU still holds a 50-41-6 lead in the all-time series with ISU.
The Jayhawks (3-5, 1-4 Big 12) play host to the Cyclones (4-3, 3-2) at 11 a.m. Saturday.
