LUBBOCK, Texas — Moments after his team clinched its record-setting 14th straight Big 12 Championship, KU coach Bill Self addressed the media and was asked about the team’s accomplishment in spite of its apparent flaws.
“I’m amazed,” Self said. “I really am.”
KU defeated Texas Tech on Saturday, 74-72, to lock up a share of the conference with two games remaining.
KU was led in scoring by Devonte’ Graham, who finished with 26 points and made two key baskets down the stretch to seal the win.
“He’s the Big 12 player of the year,” Self said. “There has to be a value put on winning.”
