KU players spoke to reporters following an 89-53 win over South Dakota Tuesday night in Allen Fieldhouse.
The Jayhawks were led by Charlie Moore, who scored a team-high 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. Moore paced a tremendous effort by the bench, which finished with 40 points in the win.
Moore netted six 3-pointers after making just three triples entering Tuesday’s tilt.
“He told me to keep shooting,” Moore said of KU coach Bill Self’s message to him. “He was saying the ball was going in and I had confidence so he told me to keep putting it up.”
KU is now 10-0 to start the season with its first true road test this weekend, as the team travels to Arizona State at 8 p.m. Saturday.
