KU coach Bill Self on 89-53 win over South Dakota

Kansas coach Bill Self spoke to reporters following an 89-53 win over South Dakota Tuesday night in Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks used a 30-7 run to close out the game in convincing fashion. No. 1 Kansas scored 40 points of the bench, pouring in 52 points in the second half overall en route to the lopsided victory.

“I don’t think we’re going to have many games where two guys off the bench get 30, but I think there are capabilities of us scoring at a rate much higher than we have been,” Self said.

KU is now 10-0 to start the season with its first true road test this weekend, as the team travels to Arizona State at 8 p.m. Saturday.
