2020 star set to announce Top 10 schools

Highly ranked Class of 2020 star Cade Cunningham will announce his top 10 schools on Thursday at 4 p.m. central.

Cunningham has been one of the top performers on the NIKE EYBL circuit this spring and has been one of Kansas' top targets for over a year. However, the Jayhawks aren't the favorite to land the 6-foot-6 small forward right now.

Oklahoma State is said to be the favorite, but the Cowboys haven't made many splashes in the recruiting world over the past couple of years. Landing Cunningham would create a huge wave for them.

Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, Texas and Oklahoma State are some of the many schools that have been recruiting Cunningham throughout the past year.

Cunningham is a Texas native but transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida this past school year.

Here's a quick look at some of his highlights while we wait his first of what figures to be a few rounds of cutdowns.

I have to admit, I enjoy following KU basketball, but I am more interested in stories about the players who are committed to KU than these elite basketball players who drag out their recruitments, which results in KU spending $10,000's if not $100,000's trying and failing to get them signed. Here is hoping the top High School players just go directly pro, save coaches the headache of flying around the country on private University jets just to show their faces at a game. That way they can focus on those players who are truly interested in a college education while honing their athletic skills.

Matt Scott, try writing a story about how much time and effort KU coaches put into successful and not so successful recruitments. I wonder if they would be even willing to share that information. Try and ask Self one day how much time he spent recruiting Malik Newman (failed, went to Mississippi State and then ultimately ended up at KU via a transfer).

Top 10? Sorry but this is ridiculous. Who gives a sh*t about top 10. Talk about trying to milk it for all it's worth. It's not a Ms USA pageant...
