Aldrich edges out Xavier, Taylor for top spot

1. Cole Aldrich: Dominated with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots. Hook shot looked great.

2. Xavier Henry: Ultra-aggressive effort led to 24 points, six rebounds and 4 of 7 three-pointers.

3. Tyshawn Taylor: Rewarded his coach for returning him to the starting lineup and made 6 of 7 field goals. Had 17 points, six assists and two steals. Still needs to cut down on turnovers (three), but played under control most of the time.

4. Sherron Collins: Hit 3 of 7 three-point shots on the day he moved into a tie for the winningest player in KU history.

5. Markieff Morris: Other than five turnovers, he played a terrific game, totaling 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots.

6. Marcus Morris: Had five points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal.

7. Brady Morningstar: Took just one shot and was scoreless but did contribute two assists and two steals.

8. Tyrel Reed: Active defensively, but made just 1 of 4 shots.

9. Thomas Robinson: Came in, quickly turned it over with a terrible pass, put up an airball from close range, but as always hustled and hit the boards hard, picking up two offensive rebounds and a steal in six minutes.

10. Elijah Johnson: Had two points and two turnovers in five minutes.

11. Jeff Withey: Had a rough three minutes in some ways but did pick up two rebounds.

I disagree with Reed rating .. he was responsible for causing numberous turnovers even though he didn't get the ball he caused it to come lose for teammates to get credit. He was a lot bigger then his 1 for 4 shooting ...

Drgn - As much as I agree with you about TT & X, having great games, especially TT from the difference over recent games stand point, Cole still absolutely dominated the game. It was a night and day difference between him being in the game and out. Absolutely gree tht it could be in large part due to the fact that CU had no answer for him, but that doesn't negate how he dominated.

It is odd to struggle with rating X or TT a three for a game they played so well, especially in contrast to a few earlier in the year when we struggled to rate anyone highly.

Mighty encouraging that those 3 can dominate and McM & SC can almost fade into the woodwoork of a 20 pt win. My guess is that Sherron in particular is revelling in it - seeing his teammates do so well in a win. I think that is the leader that he is.

slayr--- Great team effort, but I'm with you. Both X and TT played way above their play in a long time. Cole was fantastic, don't get me wrong, but TT especially, was a lot better. Jayhawks looked like a #1 team and there is still room for improvement! How many teams can say that at this time of the year? Hey, I will answer my own question---not many.

The distance between #1-3 is so marginal for this could really make a case for any one of the guys to be top dog.
