The Keegan Ratings: Sweet home Chicago?

By Staff     Dec 3, 2006

_After each KU basketball game this season, this is where you can find out the basketball equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He’ll rate the Jayhawks’ individual performances from top to bottom, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch and who has seen better days. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel._**1. Mario Chalmers**: Seemed to be hot from outside, but never really was given the opportunity or didn’t create enough of his own opportunities to showcase his hot hand. Wasn’t his usual disruptive force defensively, but did a solid job. **2. Julian Wright**: Missed some shots he normally hits and didn’t hit the boards as hard as usual. Also, turned the ball over three times without an assist. **3. Darrell Arthur**: Made less than half of his field goal attempts for the first time in a college game and also went the entire first half without grabbing a rebound. **4. Sasha Kaun**: Was a strong first-half presence and the team played better with him on the court than on the bench, but played only five minutes in the second half. **5. Russell Robinson**: Is always willing to take the big shot, but doesn’t have the touch that makes him a good fit for that role. Made 1-of-5 three-point shots. **6. Sherron Collins**: Missed a couple of driving shots he normally makes and had a few defenisve lapses that limited his playing time to 14 minutes. **7. Brandon Rush**: Outplayed at both ends by DePaul senior Sammy Mejia, Rush scored just three points and made 1-of-8 field goal attempts. **8. Darnell Jackson**: Played nine minutes and all he had to show for it on the final boxscore were two personal fouls, two turnovers, and one blocked shot. The Keegan Ratings: Season Standings (Average rank) **1.** Julian Wright (17, 8 games) 2.13 **2.** Darrell Arthur (26, 8 games) 3.25 **3.** Mario Chalmers (31, 8 games) 3.88 **4.** Russell Robinson (35, 8 games) 4.38 **5.** Brandon Rush (36, 8 games) 4.5 **6.** Darnell Jackson (40, 8 games) 5.0 **7.** Sherron Collins (46, 8 games) 5.75 **8.** Sasha Kaun (36, 5 games) 7.2 **9.** Rodrick Stewart (61, 7 games) 8.71 **10.** Brady Morningstar (37, 4 games) 9.25 **11.** Matt Kleinmann (49, 5 games) 9.8 **12.** Jeremy Case (32, 3 games) 10.67 **T- 13.** Brennan Bechard (25, 2 games) 12.5 **T- 13.** Brad Witherspoon (25, 2 games) 12.5
