Kansas finished 57th in the nation and sixth in the Big 12 in the 2016-17 Learfield Directors’ Cup final standings.
Stanford won the Directors’ Cup for the 23rd consecutive year and Ohio State finished second. Stanford won national titles in men’s soccer, women’s volleyball, women’s swimming and diving and women’s water polo. The Cardinal had top 10 finishes in 15 sports.
The ranking for all 10 Big 12 schools: 7 – Texas, 17 – Oklahoma, 24 – Baylor, 27 – Oklahoma State, 45 – West Virginia, 57 – Kansas, 59 – Iowa State, 60 – TCU, 65 – Texas Tech, 66 – Kansas State.
The award is given out by the National Association of Collegiate Directors and is based on a point system for finishes in a variety of men’s and women’s sports.
North Carolina won the Cup in 1993, the first year of its existence, and Stanford has won every year since.
