Earning an invitation to play in the McDonald’s All-American basketball game isn’t a perfect predictor for success, but most invitees do make the selection committee look smart.
So far, suspended Kansas sophomore Carlton Bragg (6.1 points, 4.8 rebounds in 15 minutes per game) has not played up to the honor.
Here’s an update on everyone who played in the McDonald’s game, listed in the order that they appeared on the official box score:
EAST
**Jaylen Brown** is averaging 4.9 points in 13.5 minutes for the Boston Celtics.
**Ben Simmons**, sidelined by foot surgery, has not yet made his NBA debut with the Philadelphia 76ers.
**Diamond Stone** averages 15.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 21.6 minutes for the Salt Lake City Stars of the D-League and has appeared in four games for the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kentucky’s Isaiah Briscoe brings a 14.1 scoring average into Saturday’s game vs. Kansas.
**Antonio Blakeney** averages 16 points for LSU.
**Jawun Evans** averages 18.2 points for Oklahoma State.
**Check Diallo** (4.6 points, 3.6 rebounds), listed at 6-foot-7, has appeared in nine games for the New Orleans Pelicans and played in two D-League games.
Dedric Lawson averages 19.5 points, 10 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 and 1.2 steals for Memphis, the university, not the Grizzlies.
**Thomas Bryant** (11.9 points, 6.7 rebounds,1.5 blocks for Indiana) had 19 points and 10 rebounds in a season-opening, 103-99 overtime victory against Kansas.
**Dwayne Bacon** leads No. 6 Florida State in scoring with 17.1 points per game.
Duke’s **Luke Kennard** (19.8 points, 5.5 rebounds) totaled 22 points, five boards and five assists in a 77-75 loss to KU.
WEST
Cal’s **Ivan Rabb** averages a double-double (15.1 points, 10.6 rebounds).
Brandon Ingram averages 27.9 minutes, eight points and four rebounds for the Lakers.
Purdue’s **Caleb Swanigan**, candidate for national player of the year honors, averages 18.8 points ad 12.7 rebounds.
**Malik Newman** has impressed everyone with his scoring ability in practice during his red-shirt season at Kansas after transferring from Mississippi State. He projects as the leading scorer for KU next season.
**P.J. Dozier** averages 13.9 points for South Carolina.
**Malachi Richardson** averages 3.8 points for the Sacramento Kings.
**Jalen Brunson** averages 14.1 points and 4.2 assists for No. 1 (for now) Villanova.
Arizona’s **Allonzo Trier** has played two games since returning from a performance-enhancing-drug suspension and has averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists.
**Deyonta Davis** averages 7.4 minutes, two points and two rebounds for the Memphis Grizzlies.
**Stephen Zimmerman** (1.3 points, 1.8 rebounds) has appeared in eight games for the Orlando Magic and 14 for the D-League Erie BayHawks (13.6 points, 9.4 rebounds) .
**Chase Jeter** plays 14.9 minutes per game for Duke and averages 2.6 points and 2.7 rebounds. He scored seven points in the loss to Kansas.
