Reports: Big 12 intends to play college football this fall as planned

Herd immunity will require approx. 75% of US citizens to contract Covid. That will likely take 2-3 years and will lead to nearly a million unnecessary deaths.

2,977 people died during the 9/11 attacks and we went into a full blown war over in the sandbox. That many people are dying every other day and "it is what it is". Why aren't we mounting a battle against the virus like we would against a material enemy?

I have no fear of getting this virus myself, but myself and my kids haven't been able to visit my mom in over a year, because as a recent cancer survivor Covid could potentially put my mom in the hospital or worse.

College football players nationwide — and a few Jayhawks — express desire to play

If your sun analogy held water, the Sun Belt would have been one the least affected areas in the country, instead the opposite is true. I would speculate that a culture of not wearing masks and not social distancing are more responsible for spread in the Sun Belt. I think going outside is a great idea for restaurants, but it will be impossible to just simply have every business operate outside throughout the winter.

NCAA leadership lacking when college athletics needs it most

No Bee Bee. The one that promised six percent GDP growth and watched 30% of our American Gross Domestic Product disappear in a quarter. BIGGLIEST EVER!

Reports: Momentum building for possible cancellation of college football season, fall sports

There may be something to vitamin D and the virus, but it seems very similar to saying vitamin C will help with the common cold. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't.

Especially the snowflakes that have no problem complying with wearing shirt, shoes, and pants or respectfully taking their hat off during the National Anthem, but somehow find it impossible to wear a mask in the grocery store.

Me not wearing pants may make you sick to your stomach, but it certainly isn't going to give your grandma Covid like not wearing a mask could.

Brett, you will always run into a brick wall trying to convince conservatives that your liberal ideology is the correct course.

Your way of thinking emerges from the frontal cortex and involves deeper logistical analysis vs the conservative brain which is much more dependent on the amygdala, basing decisions more on fight or flight or gut reactions.

Good points, Dirk is going after someone?

I'm also not a Republican and have been a registered Independent for about a decade. I could agree that an extra $600 per week may be de-incentivizing, but it's a mere drop in the bucket compared to the corporate welfare being handed out without refute. It's also difficult to work when jobs are scarce or pay very little or if you have a health condition.

The so called "euthanasia program" was likely a tragic choice. However, when you have patients needing a hospital bed and there are no hospital beds available, short term and long term skilled nursing facilities may be the only option, especially if there are already infected residents residing in the nursing home.

Bioethicist grapple with the ethics of medical dilemmas such as having people wear masks or hide in their basements to prevent spread of Covid and reduce unnecessary deaths, which would likely have us under 100,000 deaths, if properly initiated; or seeking herd immunity which could lead to a million deaths from Covid.

Dr Fauci is 79, so you're saying it was his responsibility to die four years ago? Conservative, Republican, and Libertarian ideologies seek to eliminate socialist government programs such as Social Security and Medicare which will most certainly lead to many more deaths in the elderly population as were rampant prior to the initiation of those socialist programs.

I wouldn't be any more fearful of a bioethicist than I would of religious fundamentalism.

I'm sure I won't be playing the fool for long with Buttercup and the POTUS as role models.
