Blog from New Orleans: Self says coaching changes won't be a distraction, plus a cool Barry Hinson story

You know, in the long and storied history and short list of head coaches at KU, Bill Self will, if not top the list, be right beside the great Phog.

Brownback says KU will beat Ohio State by 5

Hey, I live in western Kansas and the whole town that I live in think he's great. There is some kid from this town that worships Brownback and attends KSU thinks that KSU is a bastian of liberalism that shouldn't be tolerated by the tax paying citizens of Kansas.

Frank Martin: Game was ‘men’ vs. ‘kids’

Frank Martin is as proffessional as you get. I like him but I don't think he'll be in Manhattan too many more years.

Despite loss, Jayhawks move up (!) in poll

I remember almost those same words come out of Larry Brown's mouth after we lost to Mitch Richmond and K-State at home in 1988. Larry saw something that told him we were improving and you know he was right. Other than the last 3:00 and the final score there was a lot to be happy about Sat. night.

Sheahon Zenger looking at former NFL head coaches

Herm Edwards is the guy KU needs, he will be a good recruiter, there is alot of players who would want to play for Edwards.

KU's next move must be bold one

If you were watching a "well coached team" then you were certainly not watching our crimson and blue. I beleive in separation of church and state. That dialogue has no place here, this is football not Sunday school.

KU's next move must be bold one

I get so tired of reading some of these starving journalists posts criticizing Keegan. The Jayhawk nation does extend outside Lawrence. Anyone that doesn't realize that sticking with Gill means empty stands and apathy next year has their head in the sand. I think it will be a tough hire but we must move on. The means to do so has been secured and the unwillingness to fire Gill will only alienate the deep pockets from which the funds were secured. It's time to move now.

KU coach Turner Gill opening statement after 61-7 loss to Texas A&M

Get it over with. Get out the axe. It doesn't matter if it's now or next week. The question should be is when the deep pockets that are going to finance the departure prefers the deed be done.

Things just not working out for Turner Gill at KU

The money needed to send Gill on his way is there. Leave it at that. Zenger has deep pocketed doners that realize the implications of keeping Gill one more year.
