Mark Mangino back in the Big 12

You are not serious? Do you actually now what you are talking about? Or, just talking?

Ah, Brett, someone who makes sense.
Keith, take away the 12-1 season, again more to do with a great OC and DC than MMagino, and you have a 7 year 38-47 record (a worse winning percentage than Mason, 44.7 % for Mark - 46.5% for Glen). Only 16-40 conference. During the Orange Bowl run did not play Oklahoma or Texas and only K-St and Missou were ranked. 16-40 conference! Yes, yes, I know you will say "but the 12-1 season was real and counts." And, you are so right! I still have all my Orange Bowl swag and wear it proudly. But, come on... give it up already with Mangino.

And that is the problem with Kansas football. The low bar that is set. Only wanting to be mediocre. Wow if only we set that goal for basketball. (sarcasm for those that can't hear my voice)

I hate being a broken record...

If this was the resume on your desk would you really want to bring this person to build your program? The Hawks under Mangino were 50-48 overall in 8 seasons. ONLY 3 winning seasons. (don't go crazy about 4 bowls - really? most 6-6 teams get a bowl) Worse, they were 23-41 in conference with ONLY 7 conference road wins (4 during the magical Orange Bowl season). There was ONLY 1 +.500 conference season (again O Bowl season). And finally, 4 conference seasons with 0 conference wins. Just sayin...

True True. Anything would be amazingly better than the record since the big guy left.
But, here are some numbers to look at the program objectively. If this was the resume on your desk would you really want to bring this person to build your program?

Once again people, let's move on from Mangino. There's nothing to see here! Please go back and look at the year to year results. Specifically conference. One unbelievable year (with a great OC and DC). Otherwise, mediocre at best. And, while I'm at it, I'm tired of those that say give up on the football program, that Kansas won't ever be a football school. Tell that to Duke, K-State, BAYLOR?, there is a huge list of schools with traditionally far worse programs than ours and they seem to be doing something about it.

Jayhawks fall to 18th in latest AP poll

I don't completely agree that we are being punished for who we are. Actually, if us or UK were anyone other than who we are, having lost 3 of the last 5 games would have dropped us like a rock from the top 25.
I'm thinking that because we are Kansas, the voters are all looking at this team going... ok, they're KU, they'll come around. they're young, they'll grow. let's give them the benefit of the doubt and keep them around...
Don't get me wrong. I'm happy for this thinking.

Sweet 16-bound: Kansas volleyball reaches new ground

ALL KU folks in the LA area need to show up to support these women for their next match. I've never been to one of the matches, but, I live in LA and WILL be there to cheer them on just as if it was the Sweet 16 for Basketball. IT'S ABOUT KANSAS UNIVERSITY !!!
