Villanova coach Jay Wright's sudden retirement a reminder of how quickly things can change in sports

Nice article. It's wild.... Two years ago, if you asked who the best four active coaches were in college basketball, it would be an easy answer for anyone with knowledge. Only one of those four remains now. I don't think there'd be much agreement on the other three if you asked the same question today.

I invite other fans' responses to that query.

Game day Breakdown: No. 7 Kansas basketball at Kansas State

@Keith Gellar, he's been an elite coach and his father just died, but sure, you be that guy. ಠಿ_ಠ

Realignment Today: Reports indicate Big 12 zeroing in on making a serious push to expand with 4 schools

Rodney, I have to agree with your snark. Central Florida? Seriously? If this happens, they've proven one and for all that no one involved cares one titch about academics not the well-being of student-athletes. "Enjoy another 14 hours of travel in two days, swimmers; we have some Ford F150s to sell... AND we get 4x less ad revenue than the other conferences. 🤷‍♂️

Realignment Today: As reports surface of a power conference alliance moving forward, at least one of those conferences remains open to expansion

Okay, I'm crazy, because I saw the language in your other part, which I hadn't seen before and wine is official? It's sad that is fine too that, but I get it. Frankly I think not being allowed to be in the Pac 12 will be beneficial for all of our (and their) student-athletes. No doubt more travel and fewer tone zones is bad for education.

Vern, they've changed travel unless it's "essential," which is totally subjective. Call me crazy, but I'm not concerned about that because it's so vague and people are greedy.

It's too bad our football team isn't better and... you know... only two 1.5 sports mattering to anyone and no one in charge giving a flop about student-athletes. I live in Minneapolis and have loosely followed Minnesota basketball and the Big 10 my whole life, and FWIW, every one of those schools is selling their gone games against KU basketball. We ain't nothing. I hope we end up there, 50% because it makes the most sense re travel and 50% for selfish reasons (and a bunch of Gopher friends hating/envying me during basketball season).

Former KU All-American Frank Mason III added to 76ers Summer League roster

There has never been anyone Jayhawk Nation has wanted more to make it on the big stage.

Texas, OU take first formal steps to leave Big 12; questions about future of KU's conference grow

Keith, the Mountain West would be so easy for our basketball program (we'd be the Gonzaga of the MWC), and the games would be so late and noncompetitive it would kill our TV revenue and therefore our recruiting, facilities, etc. In other words, joining the MWC would mean seppuku for our basketball program. 3-star recruits would be the norm in our not-too-distant future.

KU freshman Jalen Wilson did not travel with Jayhawks to Indianapolis on Monday

Bryce, that's a lot of flipping dead Americans. You think an extra 1.5% of our population dying in a year is all good? That is the most significant threat in my lifetime and yours by a long shot.
