Big 12 Champs: KU 'euphoric' after 74-65 win over Texas Tech, but Jayhawks still hungry for more

What I saw last night was a team effort. Never gave up. Never got discouraged. Kept fighting for loose balls. No hesitation. If they were perfect, they'd be undefeated. But they're not, and they enter the big dance with high expectations, double-BIGXII Champs, a tremendous amount of energy, a lot of interchangeable players working together for a common goal. They are battle-tested and somehow find a way to win. As Bill Self stated, they believe they are a talented team. Their play underscores that belief. Playing like they did in the regular season stretch run and through the BIGXII tournament, this is a final four caliber team that appears to be peaking at the right time. Only time will tell, but the ride, for this fan, is well-worth it!

Realignment Today: Want KU to end up in the Big Ten? Now's a good time to start acting like it belongs

If the SEC extended an offer to KU, they get a no-threat fb team along with a blue-blood bb team. This action collapses the BIG12 and brings in Oklahoma and Texas much sooner. OU and UT get out of their financial burden sooner, and the presence of KU doesn't really water down the $$$$$ take given everything else in play there. Seems like an easy choice for the SEC and it's all about getting their money sooner. It's a win-win for the SEC at very little risk or comparative cost.

Give them their own entrance, concession area, restrooms and special parking too! Rope it off from the rest of the fans and post guards to make sure no-one crosses the line. /sic/ TV highlights will be more enjoyable.

Realignment Today: Alliance chatter between ACC, Big Ten & Pac-12 brings potentially scary times for Big 12

What's a billion here, a billion there when you're talking about control of the industry? Doubtful the SEC would let their grip loose, and take a secondary role to the B1G+PAC12+ACC cabal, so they might get creative with it. :)

What if the B1G, PAC-12, ACC deal plays out?

The SEC is unlikely to sit idly by. They could absorb the BIG12 and bring in Cincinnati, Houston, UCF, reach into the Mountain West, etc., to counter the competition and build its own 4-time zone, 42+ member conference.

Big 12 warns of losing 50% of TV value following UT/OU exit

Is Kansas the only thing holding the big8 together at this point?

Why not follow the Notre Dame model, with a twist, and have the Athletic program join the (you pick) conference but hold out the BB program to be fiercely independent.

OR -

Provisionally join the BIG10 only as a BB program? Jayhawk BB can stand on its' own and be more valuable detached from the FB program.

HBBCBS could then fully concentrate on playing for the national championship (as an independent) without getting bogged down in the conference championship noise. No post-season conference tournament, get a week to rest up and prep for the NCAA tourney.

OR -

In the case of the BIG10, compete at a consistently high level throughout the year. It's perennially one of the top teams in the country, a marquee program that most any school would want to challenge or play against. Take advantage of that! Leave the big8. Use your strength! Go ALL IN for the Big Dance!

For the amount of $$$$ spent on it, the FB program must get its house in order soon, or get out of the business of college athletics altogether, if the football experiment doesn't work.

Big 12's Texas, Oklahoma make request to join powerhouse SEC

What more incentive does the FB coaching staff have to succeed, with Lance leading the way?

What does the FB team have to lose?

Go all in and leave it all on the field.

Don't hold back on anything!

Attack! Play like you've got something to prove!

Win a couple of games!

Silvio De Sousa's return to KU lineup from suspension won't involve large role

Wouldn't it be nice to see Silvio return to his first post-season form, this year?
