Completed chat with KU signee Toben Opurum

When did KU football start to be on your radar of potential schools? How did the recent success of the football program, especially the Orange Bowl victory, factor into your decision? How excited are you to be a part of the high powered offense that features Todd Reesing, Dezmon Briscoe and Kerry Meier?

What was the deciding factor in choosing KU over schools such as Nebraska, Notre Dame and Florida?

Ranking comes at bad time for KU

Jesse's next story, "Jayhawks Win Over Baylor Comes at the Wrong Time". The story will focus on how KU going to 7-0 in conference play will give OSU extra motivation to beat KU on Saturday. And how if they wanted to lose a game, they should have done it against OSU leading up to the Mizzou and KSU games. Jesse adds that it was a poorly timed win and they should have waited a week to get a victory.

Ranking comes at bad time for KU

Horrible article...We are defending national champions, we were already going to get Baylor and OSU's best game. If Baylor, losers of three straight, isn't fully motivated w/o KU being ranked than they never would be. There is nothing wrong with being ranked. Think of it this way, if KU goes undefeated this week they could move from 21 to maybe 16 or so depending on who loses. But if they had started the week unranked, at best we would probably be where we are currently at 21 the next week. Let's think, would I rather be 21 or 16 next week? That's a tough one for you Jessie, isn't it? And last time I checked, the University of Kansas gets everyones A+ game all season long because we are KU, regardless of ranking. Bottomline, KU controls their own fate tonight by how well they play, not based on some ranking attached to the corner of the tv screen that the Baylor players can't even see.And Actorman, you seem to have forgotten the Washington win. And look at our resume, it holds up against any other teams around that seeding point. Heck, if KU could have pulled out the UMass and Syracuse games, they would be ranked in the top 8 or 9 teams in the country at least. We would probably be a 2 seed in the bracketology as crazy as that sounds.
