Proud to be an American: 76ers star, former Jayhawk Joel Embiid now a U.S. citizen

News to many that Joel “faked” a back injury. Had he not been plagued with injuries, Kansas would’ve been able to defeat Stanford and move further into the Tournament that year. His NBA championship woes were exacerbated by an incredible shot by then Toronto Raptor Kawhi Leonard! I can’t question his qualification to become a U.S. citizen, but I understand that Joel has demonstrated his support of various civic causes in Philadelphia.

What to make of Kansas football coach Lance Leipold's name surfacing in connection with the now-open Nebraska job

Dirk Medema, it’s gossip (Fofoca) because he has won 2 games and there is a lot about him in the media. Also, I don’t think that Coach Leipold would leave for another two years when he could really say that he got the job done. At least this is my hope.

In Portuguese, there is a term, fofoca, which means gossip!

Former Jayhawk Bryce Hoppel falls short in 800 at World Championships

That 800 meter race was pretty rough and tumble for Koppel and McBride of Canada. Too bad because Hopped was having a good summer. Perhaps better success at next year’s Championship!

Survive & Advance: Top-seeded Kansas reaches Elite Eight with grind-it-out, 66-61 win over Providence

I believe that those close games during the season are paying dividends in games like Creighton and last night, Providence.

Zach Clemence's 26 seconds of action enough to land top spot on off night for Kansas

Both Clemence and Adams should’ve had more playing time, especially given the less than stellar performances of McCormack during the season.

No. 10 Baylor rallies from 13 points down to beat No. 5 Kansas 80-70

Wouldn’t surprise me if Texas were to defeat Baylor tonight.

Ochai Agbaji's 20 points and full stat sheets earns top spot after double-digit win over OSU

I humbly stand corrected Matt. Other than the “bad” part of my comment, I still stand by the remainder of my statement.

Ochai Agbaji's 20 points and full stat sheets earns top spot after double-digit win over OSU

“The funny thing about his night on Monday was that he (Ochai) never looked all that smooth doing any of it. That’s a bad!”

It won’t be a “bad” if Ochai continues to be challenged by Self and company to take his game up a notch and continue to kick in 20+ ppg. If he succeeds, his prominence on the national scene will grow further! Moreover, given the improvement of Jalen and Dave, and the prospect of high level play from a healthy Remy, Yesufu, Clemence, and the old standby, Lightfoot, the Jayhawks can have a good run this March.

Surging Kansas basketball program eager for a fresh shot at Texas Tech on Monday night

By the same token, on offense, we’ve got to find a way to get into the paint!
