Breaking down the future of KU's basketball roster

This was a great article, Matt. Very thorough and interesting! And the optimism was exactly what I needed to read about the program today. I was NOT devastated by the way this season turned out. I truly believe everyone was trying to do their very best, given the talent they're blessed with and the breaks they encountered. And that's one reason why I have followed the Hawks closely for several decades. Season after season there are so many fine young men on the team working hard to live up to the name Kansas Jayhawks. I'm looking forward to next year's journey! As with every season, I'll enjoy it wherever it leads.

Mighty McCormack: Freshman center helps Kansas power past Texas in Big 12 quarterfinals

Here's the quote regarding Dok, from March 8: “I think what you’d be hoping for is maintaining,” Self said. “But he’ll be a better player next year than he would’ve been this year, not because of that (but) just because he’d be a year older and he’s still real young. But I doubt we’re going to get a chance to witness that though.”

Self has already indicated that Dok is not likely to return.

Jayhawks say 'it's all coming together' for Kansas basketball

We don't know what challenges Vick has been facing the last few weeks. But don't we know there were games we would have lost without him? Sure, I agree that at the moment the "addition by subtraction" concept appears to fit. But rather than pile on against the young man, I'll wait and see what Self decides if/when Vick has the opportunity to return. Regardless, I will hope the best for Vick – still a member of the Jayhawk family.

Tom Keegan: Are expectations placed on this KU basketball team fair?

Good point, Jay, but Danny was a 4-year superstar who was dedicated to WINNING for Kansas … not saving himself for an early exit to the league. Do they make 'em like that anymore?

Dedric Lawson says brother, K.J., has 'improved a lot'

I'm confused. Paragraph 2 says: "Dedric, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound, red-shirt sophomore …"
Paragraph 5 says: "… said Dedric, a red-shirt junior …"
Which is it?
