Paul Pierce making noise in New York

The Kansas City Kings left in 1985. The Kansas Jayhawks went to the Four the 1984-1985 season, and have not had a losing season in over 30 years. I'm cool with that.

Jayhawks’ top prospects climbing recruiting ranks

It's all about a team's talent, chemistry, and confidence. I think under Coach Self that we will continue to be a team mixed with 5 star talent, solid 3-4 year players, and a few "Rudy's" (different sport, but you get the idea). It works, because Coach Self makes it work year in and year out.

Are there any other players that wanted the ball during crunch time?

Johnson signs one-year deal to play with team in Poland

Mario Chalmers and Elijah Johnson are the two players from Kansas that wanted the ball in crunch time.

In this Michigan game, did anyone else even act like they wanted the ball when the game got tight? This is why Kansas lost games to UNI, VCU, and Michigan. We have the talent, but we need closers.

OakvilleJHawk,

Great post. Would like to add one, I guess we forgot who hit the shot (his last shot in a Kansas Uniform) in crunch time to cut the lead to 87-85. That would be EJ. My only regret is that he didn't go for the win and shoot a 3 at the end of the game. With his tournament track record, he might have made it.

Good luck to EJ. One of my favorite Jayhawks. Will never forget the 39 that he put on ISU. One of the best comebacks in Kansas Basketball History!

Former KU basketball champion Dean Smith to receive Medal of Freedom

Dean Smith 82 years old and suffering from memory loss. Must be extremely hard for him and his loved ones. I wish him the best and congratulations on earning a prestigious award.

Whenever I think of UNC, I think of one of the best t-shirts I ever saw:

"Kansas, Birthplace of North Carolina Basketball"
