Weis hiring seen as a bit risky by analyst

Analysis from a guy like Cunningham is basically useless. All he knows is what's been written in the national press, and it's basically a Notre Dame rehash. Charlie's a smart guy and has, and has said, he's learned from his mistakes at ND. The biggest being defense and strength and conditioning. But I love having this national perception. It gives us a chip and let's get out there and surprise people and prove them wrong. I have no doubt that we will.

Baty, Cummings vie for backup QB job

As an aside . . . if the color reproduction in the photos is accurate, and the game jerseys are like these practice jerseys, it looks like we're going back to the "crimson" shade of red, instead of that orange-ish shade. Not important, but I like it.

Lineman Aslam Sterling has huge potential

I'm sure he did -- but it's very different doing things on your own and having someone like Holsopple riding your butt through reps and drills. What a great addition to our O-line, and I'm sure they'll get him up to speed.

Like father, like son: Charlie Weis Jr. ‘invaluable’ to Jayhawks

I'm stoked . . . are you stoked? Maybe I've had too much coffee already...nah. Seriously, though, I'm ready to get this season started and see what we've got. Now, I need another cup of coffee...

Big shot: Bill Self homers — yes, homers — in losing cause

Mizzou fans boo anything that is "good." It confuses them and they don't understand it. Much like the caveman and fire.

KU commit Frankamp scores 13 at U17 World Championships

Sound coming from the rest of the Big 12...***sigh***. Either that, or "screw it...we're going to the SEC."

Ex-KU O-line commitment hoping to catch on at BYU

Now that's funny. That's what they do here if religion is mentioned.

KU men's basketball leads conference in home attendance for 26th straight year

Thank God they built AFH as large as they did...it was incredible at the time. If they had built the standard, but large for the time with 10-12,000 seats, they would have built something new by now. And I doubt it would have half the ambience, and definitely not the history, that places AFH at the pinnacle of all of basketball, and probably sport.

Kansas rowing ties for third

Looks like we're in last place in men's and women's golf, too, at least from the headlines. Just don't have enough interest to click on the links for verification that we suck in those sports too. I'll be surprised if Zenger let's this type of performance continue for long.
