Former Adidas executive agrees to pay KU for his part in illegal pay-to-play scheme

Considering the school as victims in this scenario is laughable. In fact the schools were laughing all the way to the bank by using these players. The only victim here is Silvio de Sousa.

Report: NCAA won't punish programs caught in Adidas fraud trial until after 2019 Final Four

The same goes for the member schools or they'd allow athletes to market themselves to shoe companies while in school.

A month after KU coach caught on wiretapped phone call discussing recruit and money, chancellor has not talked to coach

The only thing I find troubling is KU and the NCAA's stance that athletes shouldn't get anything but books and tuition for their efforts. They should be able to market themselves as well.

Latest testimony in college basketball corruption trial goes into further details on KU's involvement

Tom Keegan: What to make of Day 1 of college hoops trial

All they're doing is circumventing the salary cap for college basketball players. It's disgusting that universities don't allow players to make money on their own time while working a job at the university. They hide behind the NCAA and play the victim when it's found out that someone else was trying to circumvent the salary cap.
