Loss of Combs far from devastating for KU football

I don't know that I agree with that statement. Dayne Crist played here because of his name and maybe some loyalty by CW. Certainly it couldn't have been because of his performance. He given chance after chance after chance because he was once highly rated.

New TV deal expands KU athletics coverage, access

It looks like the deal enhances access for the locals and shuts out the out of town Jayhawk fans. I live in San Francisco and I'll be able to watch several other Big 12 schools networks but not KU's.

Hilltopper ‘owes’ Elijah Johnson

Sorry Crook. I think if anything Elijah owes YOU one. Imagine beating you by only one point. You won't be so lucky this time.

Navarro Junior College offensive lineman Zach Fondal becomes latest to pick KU football

If this move by Tuberville wasn't already classless enough, there are rumors that he farted right before getting up and leaving. The nerve of that guy.

Weis promises to explore all options before OSU game

I support coach Weis and I think the future is going to be better. Having said that you can't argue with some glaring facts. As bad as Gill was, he beat NIU. And there's no excuse for losing to Rice who is now 1-5. Weis's loyalty to Crist is my biggest gripe with this staff.

Monday Rewind: Kansas State

The outraged fans (maybe outraged is too strong of a word. Let's go with disappointed) like myself didn't expect a winning team this year. I did however expect wins over Rice and NIU. Also I expected Dayne Crist to at least be an average Big 12 level QB after all the offseason hype.

Admittadly, the defense has improved, but that was bound to happen with just about anyone taking over for Vic Shealy who had never been a DC before. The kicking game is worse than Turner's teams, and so far the recruiting looks like its probably worse. Honestly though, if being slightly better than Turner Gill ( not record-wise) is our measuring stick for improvement, then we really need to raise our standards.

The million-dollar question: What's going on with Dayne Crist?

If he was a freshman or a sophomore, I could see sticking with him in hopes that things will eventually click. But the guy is a fifth year senior who was expected to be a mercenary and come in as the biggest strength of this team. We've already played the manageable part of the schedule. It's too late for Crist (even if he somehow does get better). We need to get Cummings or Baty to play for the rest of the season in hopes that somebody does get some in game experience just in case Heaps is another QB that ends up being less than what was advertised.

Big-play Pierson has chance to lead KU in rushing

I really want to see Pierson returning kickoffs with his explosive speed. Bashears should still be the punt returner though.

Roy Williams still fan of Jayhawks

I guess I'm in the minority, but I love Roy too. Still love self more, and would not trade him by any means.
