The Kansas women’s basketball team will head to Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, looking to snap a two-game losing streak.
Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be televised by ESPN+ and a radio broadcast will be available on the Jayhawk Radio Network via Learfield.
The 23rd-ranked Jayhawks have dropped three of their last five games after opening the season with 10 consecutive victories in nonconference play.
Brandon Schneider’s Jayhawks (12-3 overall, 2-2 Big 12) have been ranked in the national polls for the past five weeks, and a win at No. 19 Oklahoma likely would keep them there.
Tuesday’s loss at Texas, however, has put their stay in the Top 25 in jeopardy, at least temporarily.
Two of KU’s top weapons have been hot throughout the first four games in Big 12 play. Senior guard Holly Kersgieter has scored 20 points or more in three of KU’s four games against Big 12 foes, including a 20-point, 6-rebound showing in Tuesday’s loss to the Longhorns.
KU senior center Taiyanna Jackson, who leads the Jayhawks in scoring at 15.5 points per game and the Big 12 in rebounds (12.3 per game), blocks (44), field goal percentage (65.5%) and double-doubles (10) also has been a huge part of KU’s attack on both ends of the floor.
Oklahoma enters this one at 13-2 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play.
The Sooners have scored at least 70 points in 14 of their 15 games this season and they lead the Big 12 at 86.6 points per game, which ranks seventh nationally.
OU leads the all-time series with KU, 45-34, including a 20-13 edge in games played in Norman. The Jayhawks, however, have won at OU’s Lloyd Noble Center in two of the past three seasons, including a 73-67 victory last year.
