I don't even need to listen to this to know what happened. it's the same thing that has happened all year, and it happened because this team is mentally weak and has no heart.

Larry Renbarger 7 years, 1 month ago

No heart? I beg to differ. They are A team of freshmen and Sophmores scrapping game after game to edge out teams that we could have easily lost to. How many times did they come back from behind. No, this team has heart, just no maturity and no experience.

We're spoiled...

Missou = 9-23 record.

KU = 11th consecutive big 12 championship - 26th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance

Thanks, team and Coach Self! Can't wait for next fall!

Gerry Butler 7 years, 1 month ago

who gives a crap about Missouri? why is their name even put on this site? are we now settling for how many consecutive Big !2 championships we have? are we good with that? as long as we keep winning conference championships its ok? the same with consecutive NCAA appearances we get? I would think you would want to do something with an appearance I the NCAA'S starting to become a habit of early exits but your good wit that right? again its all roses as long as we win that conference championship. if that's the case why don't we just decline to play in the NCAA'S? na thanks were good we won the conference championship again. can't wait till NEXT YEAR so we can win ANOTHER CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP. so what happens when that streak get broken? is it still ok then to get bounced out of the NCAA'S at this early point AGAIN? you tell me where is the priority? conference championships or deep runs into the NCAA tourney? you tell me what is the goal of teams during the season? conference championships or NCAA title runs? damm

You don't strike me as a full-time fan. Let's go to the NCAA as a #6 seed? Theres only one that's the best and the rest are also rans. Right now we are as good or better than the 16 teams left. That's not too bad for a bunch of rookies and a one and done that's done already and has been for several weeks.

So you won the Big Twelve....take a look at how the other Big Twelve" teams (that got in) fared in the national tournament......Iowa State, out, Baylor, out, OSU out, Texas out, and the champion over all these teams, Kansas.........also....out. There is sumpthin there, folks......

While one cannot diminish our 11th straight Big 12 title, we must admit we finished the year 6-5 in our last 11 games.

If Bill continues the OAD parade of guys who are excellent skilled players such as Wiggins, JoJo, Kelly and on it can go, we will never have team success. The fact is Calipari and the Kentucky money are getting the cream of the crop of OAD's and we weaken our team by taking their leftovers.

Kansas is indeed a flyover state and we can compete for a national title every 3 years or so if we recruit players with the plan for them to stay at least 3 years.

This means we evaluate the best we can in recruiting, coach the best we can once they get here and patiently wait for them to mature and develop. In their third year we will be strong if we keep them. Running players off because they are not as good as we thought when we recruited them is not the key to success.

Keep Greene, Mason, Graham, Selden, Ellis, Lucas, Mickelson, Traylor and add players each year who can provide what this nucleus cannot and continue to mature and improve and every 3 years or so we will be as good as anyone.

We had better talent than WSU but they had a better team. Why? Because they have played together for 3 years.

Lance Hobson 7 years, 1 month ago

Solid season. Was expecting WSU to win, they're better. We haven't figured out the one and done thing. Ours have been worthless the last two years.

Hubert White 7 years, 1 month ago

Nice parting shot Coach Self: calling the team who just kicked your tail all over the gym, "Iowa State". Come more class! You are one of the top 5 programs in the country so keep it that way! Rock Chalk!!!

Larry Renbarger 7 years, 1 month ago

After just losing the tourney to a team we've avoided for 20 years would you have had your head on straight? Bitach about something worth bitachin' about. like our 3 point game or how bad O'bre and Green have turned out.

I will say something, Cal quote when at Memphis 2008, lost to Patino Lui went south and Memphis went off to the final game, So he know what works, Rose missed from the strip but that history, Izzo plays for March, that's good, Coack K takes his best player out because of his play was wicked in his face to refs, and Duke starts it's run, You think he cares how good a player you are or your life person on floor and off, UCLA there because the won 8 out of 9 in the end, I am not going to get into what coach are better, Huggie Bear W V get Cal 3 year in a row, the stupid talking head after the W, ask what about UK , he quote can't I just enjoy this, he can't say FU but he thought it, the refs need a 1 min clock on ? calls, play ball

When we lost our 3 pt game I knew we were just another team. Kudos though for taking us as far as you did without a mature team. Though you proved yourselves what you are, a bunch of inconsistent, individual players with little experience at the college level, I'm still proud of what Coach Self did with such young egotists who are too busy spending their signing bonuses to play real Jayhawk basketball.

I hope no one goes pro. Especially O'bre. He quit in the last part of the year and looked worthless when it counted. I wouldn't want him on my pro team. He was projected #8 in the draft. I figure he dropped $20 million by his rookie performance this year. Green can't do anything but 3 pointers and that went away over a month ago.And Seldon can't make up his mind if he's good or not. But if they stay, next year will be exceptional especially if we get a quality big man who's mother doesn't shoot him in the foot. These kids have a lot of growing to do. I hope they all realize it.

I'm a Jayhawk. Not a fair - weather fan. Bravo to all KU and Bill Self have done for KU. I'll be here again next year.
