A look at the alternate Kansas football helmet, which the Jayhawks will wear on Nov. 3, versus Iowa State, for the program's annual "Salute to Service" game. Mimicking the fighter planes that had Jayhawks painted on them, the helmets have the 1941 Jayhawk superimposed over a sheet metal texture.
Kansas football players, coming off a home win against TCU, will don special alternate uniforms that honor World War II veterans the next time they take the field at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.
