Jayhawks face confident ’Cats today

Kansas University basketball coach Bill Self briefly addressed the KU-Kansas State rivalry — the Sunflower Showdown — at practice on Thursday. “The key thing is we have to look at the teams before us and how they competed and how we beat them and really just go out and play to the best of our ability,” sophomore Perry Ellis said of Self’s message concerning a series in which KU has won 47 of the last 50 meetings entering today’s 1 p.m. contest in Allen Fieldhouse.
